10. American Star at Fuerteventura, Canary Islands






It was William Francis Gibbs, the mastermind who designed the beautiful liner, the SS America. Soon, it was renamed USS West Point since it ferried troops during the second world war. The mighty ship was almost sold as scrap in the 1980's until the scrappers couldn't fulfill the payment and the ship became a five-star ship! While being ferried to Southeast Asia in 1994, tow lines broke due to stormy weather. The ship now stands tall at Canary Islands.
